Theo's debut film as a feature director ("Fifty Pills") premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival, selected as one of 169 from over 4,000 submissions. Being one of 5 films to attain distribution, “Fifty Pills” has since been released internationally on DVD and continues a steady TV run on The Showtime Channel, The Movie Channel, and Comedy Central. The film includes an all-star ensemble cast of Lou Taylor Pucci (Thumbsucker), Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Veronica Mars), John Hensley (Niptuck), Eddie Kay Thomas (Till Death, American Pie), Jane Lynch (Glee, Talladega Nights, Best in Show), Michael Pena (World Trade Center, Crash), Norah Zehetner (Heroes, Brick) and several others. Theo is currently developing three more independent features.
Theo also continues his commercial directorial work with Blue Man Group Productions.
Born in New York City and raised in New Canaan, Connecticut, Theo began shooting his first super8mm short films as early as middle school. Through high school Theo continued his film studies and earned the rank of Eagle Scout with a documentary highlighting the history of his town. He was also a captain of the football team and all-state linebacker, a Jazz guitarist, and avid sailor.
While attending Bucknell University, Theo co-founded the school’s first student film production club, and also formed the first interdepartmental major in Cinema Studies, eventually leading to the current film department.
